Overview
Heartwarming Cactus is an interactive, bio-digital emotional support installation inspired by the symbolism of plants and CBT-informed self-reflection. Instead of treating emotions as something to “fix,” it offers a gentle space where users can externalize stress, notice patterns, and practice small acts of regulation.
At the center is a digital cactus that visually responds to a person’s inner state. As negative feelings accumulate, the cactus gradually weakens; when users process and release emotional “weight,” the cactus recovers. This slow, readable change transforms invisible emotional strain into an observable living metaphor—making care feel possible in daily life.
Experience Intention
This project is designed as a quiet entry point, not a high-performance wellness product. It aims to create a “small moment of care” in everyday life—where users can pause without being judged, tracked, or rushed.
